Shopify help

This page helps you to get an idea of how to organize your store at the backend and the steps that should be done before starting theme customizations.

Before you start with the theme, please check if you are familiar with Shopify software. Pay attention to how to add and edit the Product, Collection, and Navigation menus. You have to be familiar with product tags, product meta fields, and general store settings.

Register store

The Shella theme is not an independent product. You must have a Shopify store to use it. Create a Shopify store now if you don't have one.

Shopify offers a 14-day trial period. In case you want more time to prepare your store, consider starting with a development store.

Metafields

Check Shella Metafields video tutorial for more details.

Collections

Check the following Shopify help page about Collections.

The Shella theme includes Sidebar and Content static sections and dynamic sections for a page.

Storefront filtering (new filtering approach)

Read details about storefront filtering on the following Shopify help page about Storefront filtering.

The theme supports the storefront filtering by Shopify that you can configure in your Shopify Admin -> Online Store -> Navigation -> Collection and search filters by using the Shopify Search & Discovery app. How to set up filters in your admin, read here.

This filtering method uses the 'OR' filter logic.

Tags (old filtering approach)

Tags are searchable keywords that you can associate with your product. Tags can help customers find your product through your online store search.

Filters on the collection page can work based on tags. First, you have to add tags to your products. Second, configure the filter block in theme settings.

This filtering method uses the 'AND' filter logic.

Check the following Shopify help page about Menus and links.

To configure the Mega menu at the theme you have to create the nested menu at Online Store -> Navigation and second configure Mega menu popups at Sections -> Header.
